I realise I sounded a bit Scrouge-ish there. I should probably clarify that I like Christmas, I just don't like it September through December, as the commercial world seems eager for me to.
Having American friends means I was dragged into a Thanksgiving party yesterday. Tremendous fun. Full turkey dinner (not like my mother cooks it, though - a lack of roast parsnips for one thing), followed by Die Hard and a reminded of WriSoc's most memorable quotes over the year. We decided the winner was "I went out for a top hat and came back with a chlamydia test!" Getting caught in a snowstorm on the way back wasn't much fun, but being there when a drunk bloke got arrested and the driver on the Metro passed comment on it ("Ha, I doubt he'll be up for his paper round in the morning") was fairly entertaining. All in all, a good night. Even if I did go to bed just before England started taking wickets.
I just looked out my window, and saw the first snow of the season. It's all nice and pretty, and fortunately it is not a heavy snow so I won't have to shovel.
Aww, happy anniversary to you both. Ah, the first snow. I love it, too, until I have to get out and shovel.
^We don't even have to shovel N & S do it for us! Hee, hee Congrats Lydia! Heh, enjoy it while you can Agreen. You might find yourself up to your ears in snow soon enough
Don't you guys live in different countries/continents? Edit: Sorry if that sounds abrupt and rude. I guess I'm curious.
Yeah, we do. Doesn't prevent us from loving each other, though. Yeah, I guess it's not your normal relationship, but that's just the way it is.
Meh. There's probably no such thing as a normal relationship when it comes down to definitions. All I know is that I certainly couldn't do the long distance thing, I guess that's why I'm somewhat shocked/in awe of people who have successful cyber/long-distance relationships.
This brought some joy into my life in this otherwise miserable world, so thought I'd share: Thought some might enjoy (the lesson to be learned)-nice to see there are some who have the cubes to "Profile" and disregard the PC manual. Apparently the Russians do not take kindly to their ships being grabbed by Somali Pirates. I didn't hear the music but it was nice to see them obviously, happily dancing to YMCA in the beginning. Apparently they didn't read Obamas PC manual that says "bring prisoners home for lengthy and expensive trial with attorneys to represent them!!. Nice fireworks display celebrating their release!!. They're going to stick to the "Easy" American Ships from now on!!. http://true-turtle.livejournal.com/85315.html
aww congrats Lyd and Rob too i suppose haha I've spent the last hour or so writing. I haven't sat down and wrote like this in so long. It feels awesome!! I am so into my story right now and I so don't want to stop! I feel so good right now!!
Thanks Yellow! Also, great to hear! I haven't been writing in quite a while... but I'm definitely gonna get at it again as soon as I've finished those exams- which is tomorrow! Not sure how it'll go... since it's Spanish, and I did get to practice it quite a bit when I was in Spain, but things get different when I'm nervous and I tend to forgot the most important things. AND I'm not very good at my verbs. :/ But- when I did it I did it, and I hope it goes well, of course, but if it doesn't... I'll only do better next time? (My way of being optimistic ) Also, my friend invited me to go to a Bible museum with her on Saturday in Germany! I've never actually been in Germany before... despite living right next to it. So yeah, that should be fun.
Dan and I started this way, now we live together and have a perfectly wonderful family and life. Huge congratulations to you both. 1 year is definitely something to celebrate. *hugs* It's definitely worth it if your heart is in it.
Matt and I met on this very website over two years ago now, and are going to celebrate our two year's anniversary on December 30th. I can't wait! Happy anniversary to you guys, Lydia.
