My favorite bookmark that I haven’t chewed to death I got at Hot Topic, it says ‘bitch you know you can’t read’ I thought it was hilarious, and still regret not getting a handful of them to this day, cause I haven’t seen another one since then

I would dog-ear pages, use sticky notes, receipts, then my mom made this bookmark our of an old card with magnets the glued on the ends. I liked it the best bc it held onto the page without falling out. Sticky note eventually stopped sticking.

Whatever I've got at hand. I tend to keep the ones stuck on second hand books. So far they came with children's pictures, ancient phone bills, toothbrush ads... I know it's junk, but it's somehow as if the owner's story (a quite tiny piece) is still on that junk. I can wonder if he or she was brushing teeth that day, who the kid was, and so on. Kind of a writing prompt in itself.

I've tried to buy those artsy looking ones on Etsy or elsewhere, trouble is, I once made me own with Yeats' verses. Didn't looked bad, still amateurish. Somehow I grew fond of it. Looked terrible, but it was 'my terrible', if that makes sense. Wish I hadn't thrown it away.
If I get back to that, I'll post some.

Bookmarks are one of the only things I procure when traveling abroad. They're small, easily portable, useful, and bring back pleasant memories. Right now I'm using a flat silver metal bookmark with cut-out Celtic knots that I got in Ireland many years ago. Friends make bookmarks for me out of fabric or paper, and I pick up others at events or at the library. Given the number of bookmarks I own, you'd think I'd never dog-ear a page, but... :supercheeky:
