1,760 words to go to reach 50,000. No reason why I shouldn't hit the goal tomorrow (Thursday), but I might try to get to 53,500 before I validate. Why? Because if I want to be a NaNo purist and produce 50,000 in the month of November alone, I shouldn't really count the chapters I wrote last year for the Pennwriters Novel Beginnings contest, should I? From what I'm seeing, it's common for people to start writing beforehand, but you know, I'll feel better about myself if I get that fifty thousand in November only. Besides, I'd like to finish Part 1 of my novel in this campaign, and another 5,260 words just might do it.
Yep. I'm aiming for 85,000 to 90,000 words total. A lot of what I've written this month I hope to edit out. It's rather prolix.
5,200 last night! Whew! I'm booking it as fast as I can to the finish line. I'm at 39,800 right now. I need a little over 5,000 a day still. It's going to be a close one...
Nice, you'll have written over half by the end of NaNoWriMo. Good for you! My novel will likely end in the 200,000 mark since it is adult high fantasy. I'll only be a quarter of the way done (assuming I make it to 50K).
Congrats to those who have already won. Yep I bowed out of the race, and am actually down a couple thousand words, now that I've decided to go ahead and pull the plug on some scenes that needed to go. But I had fun and made huge progress. I'm going to do it again next year, and probably for some of their non-November events too. I plan to finish my novel, Stars Extinguished, sometime early next year. Though I'll probably hit the NaNo 50k before then.

Tried to hold out the 3,400 words I inserted from the chapters I started before November 1, but NaNo wouldn't let me. Oh, well. Got the other 50,000 some-odd in in November, and now I'm going to bed.
I cut several chapters from my outline because I realised they weren't really serving the purpose I thought they would so I reckon I'm past the 50% mark now. Total word count: 135K. Yeah, I'm gonna have to write a lot in December as well...
