That pretty much guarantees that if you design and produce your own cover, it's going to look like a dog's dinner.
I have just finished the design of my cover. I found a nephew who is artistic and messes around with Photoshop a good bit. We had considered using stock photos but it is just too messy. So he came up with a graphical design idea and I took that and worked with fonts. Everyone usually knows someone in the family or friends of family who will offer a bit of free time for a credit.
