I put up my 7ft. plastic christmas tree, with 4 strings of lights and about a million different ornaments (a bit of an exageration) the Sunday after Thanksgiving. My husband and I put it up together. Since I am in South Korea and my family is on the other side of the world in the U.S.A. the tree did nothing but make me realize what I'd be missing this year.
If you don't have one buy a webcam, and get your family to buy a webcam as well that way on Christmas day you can both turn it on and at least see each other. Thats what I'm doing.
one year we decorated my avacado tree. it was about 4' tall so we strung lights around it and up the wall. looked rather impressive. another year we took the boys out to pick out a tree and they liked one that was really tall like 20' but the top was beautiful. So Don got his shotgun out and shot the top of the tree off to the perfect length. we picked it up and took it home to decorate. That was a fun tree.
Ours wont be up until the 12? And I think the reason for that is because of the the Christmas Carol: 12 days of christmas.... My family have it up 12 days before christmas and take it down 12 days after. And that sometimes happens months into the new year....
AWWWW Lol. Ours always goes up on the first saturday of december if possible and comes down just after New Year - you may possibly see it.
