While there is a general trend in stories for a happy ending, or at least an ending that resolves the story issues, and provides a bit of a hopeful feeling. But what effect does society in general to how authors end their stories? Do bad times influence the endings on some level, even unconsciously? How does Genre effect the choosen ending of a story?
