A Phantom for My Opera?

By Madman · Apr 1, 2024 · ·
  1. Some days when I doubt myself and my abilities to write I think of employing a ghost writer. But in a bit of a different setup. I will write the first draft and then the potential ghost writer can refine it to a readable/enjoyable state.

I love storytelling, and I love the creative process. But my produce just isn't up to par most of the time.

Training is like trying to teach an old dog new tricks. I read, I watch, I practice... I learn? Yeah, sometimes I do learn.

But I will continue to try my best. So no, I will not employ a phantom for my space opera. I will be the author of my own work fully. To hell with exquisite quality. As long as it is readable and enjoyable for the consumer of my texts, I am a happy fellow.

    Thank you for your time.

Writing is hard especially for us non-natives.

A good potential alternative might be hiring a professional editor. I've never tried one though, but it does sound like something that might help. The editor will point out the pitfalls in your text and you can remain confident that they're good suggestions to focus your attention to.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, once I'm done with my first draft I will try and get an editor for it. Will probably be tons of stuff that will need improvement, but I will also learn a lot.
