I was just wondering if anyone has read the novel "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I have to write an essay on it for english but am having a lot of trouble with it. If there's anyone who could help me with it that'd be great.
I knew of a short story The Secret Garden, by G.K.Chesterton, one of Father Brown's adventures, but no novel called that.
I've read it, but it was a number of years ago. It was a great story though, loved it. What do you need help with?
This is what I have to base my essay on: Compare the physiological and psychological impact of the Gothic elements in the house and the garden. Discuss how the mystical theology that originated in Gothic architecture informs a particular theme arising from these elements as part of your comparison. I have begun with researching the origins of the Goths and Gothic Architecture, as well as Gothic Novel/Literature. I then went on to note the sublime and beautiful aspects of the garden. However, I just cannot get a grip with starting the actual writing process. Any ideas?
I'm sorry, I didn't look that deep into the story at the time I read it. I thought the question would be about the time skips the story takes between each visit to the Garden, sorry.
Ah, that's ok. It's a pretty complicated question but I'm sure I'll figure something out eventually. Thanks anyways though.
