I just bought the final instalment of Thundercats and now finally I have the complete set. Yup I love the Cartoons I grew up watching. Now I’m waiting for them to release GI Joe. Before Thundercats was Visionaries. Who else has favourite cartoons they loved watching from their childhood. Come on be honest.
When I was younger (see I can't see 'when I was a kid' cuz I still am), there was this really great show called Weekenders, about these four kids who did stuff over the weekend. It always got really moralistic at the end, but the rest of the cartoon was the funniest thing on TV. I was so sad when they stopped airing it. I also liked this show called The Adventures of Pete and Pete, which also no longer airs. Ooh, and Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century. That was a weird 'un.
Sadly, I have to admit to He-Man... lol. I even had a Castle Greyskull playset.. I also liked Capatain Caveman, Hong Kong Phooey and anything with Daffy Duck. But I still watch cartoons - Dragonball Z and Invader Zim amongst others. Oooh! I just remembered - Samurai Pizza Cats!
I was too young to watch them originally, but my brothers have some now and I've loved them since I was young. Thundercats is one of them- MASK is the other! How I love MASK. It's a lot better than the rubbish I grew up with. He-Man was good too.
Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century. That was a weird 'un. this one came after I was an adult but I really enjoyed it. my children laughed at me though. Rocket Robinhood. felix the cat. with poindexter. yosemitie sam. popeye with bluto mighty mouse. underdog atom ant just to name a few. they were our insentive to clean the house on Sat. mornings as TV could not go on until the housework was done.
Oo Dangermouse! I forgot that one. And my all time favourite DUCKULA!!! soo good. I also loved the animated snoopy they did a few years ago.
A couple from way way back Clutch Cargo was an adventure cartoon, but the animation technique was a bit creepy - live action lips embedded in the drawn figures. Scott McCloud: Space Angel was one of the first sci-fi cartoons. As I remember it, a lot of the animation consisted of still drawings with camera and background panning, so the drawings themselves were fairly detailed with fewer distinct frames. Of course, there was also the great Hanna-Barbera prime time adventure cartoon, Jonny Quest. I also enjoyed the Hanna Barbera cartoon inspired by Jackie Gleason's sitcom The Honeymooners, The Flintstones.
I Loved...Scooby-Doo, my favorite...I still watch it if it is on!!! Bugs Bunny, another favorite...honorable mentions...Mr. Magoo, The Pink Panther..
Original Johnny Quest Mighty Orbots! This show was my first run-in with modern anime influenced cartoons. I was awestruck by the style. It’s a bit cheesy by today’s standards, but I had my nose against the CRT when it originally ran.
I like Tom and Jerry - mindless violence with cute little animals  I used to watch a buncha old cartoons that would come on Cartoon Network really early in the morning, but I don't remember a lot of them. Courage the Cowardly Dog and Rocco's Modern Life are probably my favorites, though. Too cute!
I'm not all that old, but I'm old enough to have watched a lot of the classic cartoons. I loved Scooby Doo, but especially Speed Racer!
