wrote or written

hi guys im new to this forum but was just wondering which two sentences are right:

'he hasn't wrote his statement yet?'

or

'he hasn't written his statement yet?'

really bugging me at the moment.

"He hadn't written his report," would be the the appropriate usage of "written" for example.

"He wrote his report," is the appropriate usage of "wrote." Wrote is the past tense version of write/writing/written.

 

there's nothing wrong with 'hasn't written'... whether to use hadn't or hasn't depends on the context... both are grammatically correct on their own...

Wrote is simple past tense. Written is the past participle. Your sentence is written in present perfect tense, which is composed of the auxiliary verb has or have and the past participle.

The present perfect is used to indicate an action at an unspecified time prior to the present.

Compound verb tenses (those using auxiliary verbs) use a participle for the main verb. Written is the past participle, and writing is the present participle.

 

I'm not a whiz with English grammar and its terms (but surprisingly I know what they are and how to identify them if it's German), but the sentence, "he hasn't written his statement yet" is perfectly reasonable English. "he hasn't wrote his statement yet" just sounds (and is) plain wrong.
