What's the weather like where you are today? Today it's 44 degrees celsius where i am! (abou 112F). It's already 39 and it's only 9:30! Going to be a hot day. I think i live in a desert!
That's cool! When i was in primary school (5 years old etc) we got to stay home if it was really hot but that only ever happened once or twice. Definitely never got the day off for it being too cold. Right now that sounds pretty good to me! Enjoy it!
Yeah, we got out of school too and the precipitation hadn't even started yet. Almost every single county in Virginia was closed and all we got was a light rain that only slightly froze on the tree limbs. Great job, school board.
Yeah, rub it in, Carmina. But seriously, schools being cancelled because of freezing rain? Almost every day in a Canadian winter, the roads are in the same condition the they are for freezing rain. I had one snow day the entire time I went to school. We didn;t have many of them when I was in college doing my field placements in elementary schools, either.
Well where I live our vehicles aren't equipped to deal with snow, simply because the money to equip them would be a waste, considering how infrequently we have snow.
I've only ever seen snow once (and it was on the mountains not falling at the time) on my honeymoon in October. Would love to go to Canada one day though!
Today's weather in Adelaide was, in a word, unbearable. >_> We had the hottest day on record in 70 years - 45 celsius, which is @114 farenheit. I don't have any cooling bar a crappy pedestal fan, and earlier in the day, when I went to pour hair conditioner in my hand, it was almost scalding. I really don't like today, and this heatwave is forecast at least until Sunday. Bleh. >_<
It is lovely out. It is a bit cold (mid 30'sF, but it should warm up to the high 50's by the afternoon.
It's currently sunny, but it's been so unbearably cold lately. Right now it's a balmy 21 degrees (Fahrenheit, not going to bother looking it up to see if I spelled it right). Lately we've been lucky to get above zero. Ugh. *shudders*
Wednesday, January 28, 2009 The Current Temperature: -11 degrees Celsius Feels like: -21 degrees Celsius Currently, we have a 'large storm system for Eastern Canada’ I must say that it snowed approximately 20 cm today, and expecting anther 5 cm overnight. I had to shovel a lot of snow. Here is a link: http://www.theweathernetwork.com/news/storm_watch_stories3&stormfile=Stormwatch_27_01_2008&eccode=WWCAON0012&warningdisplay=noec&warningtype=sw
Low 20s (Fahrenheit). Dupmed about 8 inches of snow, on top of a couple inches of snow on top of ice already there) in the last 10 or so hours. The wind has died town until the evening. Should drop to the low teens tonight. Such is winter. Terry
Weather network makes it seem so dramatic, though this is nothing compared to the famous ice storm from ten years ago.
No, this isn't a global warming thing (if you were responding to me). That ice storm was very unusual. It wasn;t that it was much colder than it is now. The snow just got to unusually high levels that year.
I can't really remember it... I was only probably like 10 at the time. But my parents told me the power went out for weeks... and there was a lot of commotion.
Bloody England, it's not cold enough to snow but it's not warm in any way shape nor form ... just wet and muddy. I can't wait until I'm old enough to move to a foreign country that's warm, picturesque and get's plenty of snow ... northern Italy here I come!!! In half a dozen years or so, meh.
