Name: Callie Scourn Age: 26 Gender: F Family: none, her family was killed in a seemingly random attack in New Atlantis shortly after they arrive. The only family she has is her husband, Tom, who she married not long after the murder. He is very powerful, manages a large corporation on the island, and they truly do love each other. Appearance: not a model, but as Tom says “damn close.” She has long brown hair down to the small of her back, very sexy looking curves, weighs about 130 lbs, and is 5’9”. Typical Clothing/Costume: after her “revival” as she calls it, Callie got very fashionable, and always walks around looking her best. She frequents skirts and dresses, otherwise dress pants or leggings, very VERY rarely jeans. Description: Callie was always very down to earth, but the murdering of her family was something she struggled to come back with. Despite Tom taking her in, their quick romance, and marriage, she still has trouble with the death of her parents and sister, Ann. She is mainly all business, but she is a pleasant person to be around, and has varied interests. Occupation: helping Tom run his company Hobbies: Callie is in the library a lot, learning new things about the world that perk her interest, as well as subjects she has never touched before Superpowers/equipment: Callie can absorb materials and become that material. However, the amount of her that changes is based on the quantity of material, and therefore limits what she can become fully. However, the amount doesn’t necessarily need to be the same as what she can use. For example, her wedding ring is custom made, and she can change her hand into any material in the ring. Can't wait to get started, I was really inspired for this RP. Name: Amir Narang, aka Ethereal Empress Age: 26 Gender: Male Family: Amir was disowned by his strictly tradition Indian family when they discovered he was a drag queen, and his parents even wrote him out of the will. Appearance: When in his normal clothes, Amir is a tall, thin man with long black hair. caramel brown skin, and delicate facial features, such as large dark eyes surrounded by long lashes and a wide, generous mouth. He acts completely masculine, but is often mistaken for a girl, just by his appearance. Typical Clothing/Costume: Severe black lipstick, heavy black and purple eye makeup, tight purple unitard, leather choker with a large amethyst pendant, elbow-length leather gloves with an amethyst gem on back of each hand, fishtnet stockings, knee-high stiletto heels, black leather utility belt with a large double E-shaped buckle, and a long purple cloak. (She has other costumes for different situations, but this is her main one.) Description: In his normal life, Amir has very few friends and he rarely goes out to eat or party. Women find him attractive, but he always turns them away because he is scared that they will discover his secret life. If you saw him on the street, you wouldn't guess that he occasionally dresses like a woman to save Atlantis from various surpervillians. He acts completely masculine and not even his co-workers can tell if there is anything strange about him. When he dresses as the Ethereal Empress, he becomes a completely different person, and no one could ever tell that he was truly a man. Occupation: Amir is a librarian at the Atlantis Public Library. Hobbies: Reading, taking walks in the park, making exotic meals at home, decorating his apartment, shopping, and playing with his cat, Julian. Superpowers/equipment: Powers- The Ethereal Empress can conjure Ethereal Fire, which is normal fire, but it is purple-colored and much hotter. She can shoot fire from hands, eyes, mouth, or even nostrils, shape objects made of fire (such as a wall of fire or a fire sword), teleport by exploding in a pillar of fire and appearing somewhere else, and fly using fire. She can also call fire back to herself, for instance: if she accidentally sets a tree or an innocent bystander on fire, she can absorb the fire back into her body before any serious damage is done. Equip- Inside her utility belt is a few basic provisions, such as burn salve, gauze bandages, makeup, a compact mirror, makeup brushes, tissue, and a few ninja stars. If she is in need, she can press the double E-shaped buckle on her belt and it will deposit a small bomb that can blow through almost any obstacle. There are three such bombs in the buckle and they are charged with her own Ethereal Fire. Extra info: Although in Amir's normal life he's very much a shut-in, the Ethereal Empress is paid high price to come to parties and has walked on many catwalks, including Victoria's Secret. Amir is very rich as a consequence, but he still lives in a small apartment. The only thing he splurges on is a pent house suite that he keeps downtown in the Ethereal Empress's name, a private luxury jet with a double-E emblazoned on the side in big purple letters, and a sleek black motorcycle with twin shooting guns, both of which are powered by Ethereal Fire.
Name: Manus Yates Age: 25 Gender: Male Family: An older sister who lives in northern Wales with a brother in law he despises. His parent's passed away when he was younger. Appearance: Tall (6’2”) with a build lying somewhere between thin and athletic, Manus’s figure is not a particularly imposing one. His hair is a mud brown and kept short, kept away from his green eyes due to its length. His features are best described as plain, neither handsome nor ugly and overall he wouldn’t stand out from a crowd, apart from a slight scar on his chin. Typical Clothing/Costume: Manus’s clothing is very plain and mostly casual. He avoids strong colours apart from the occasional hint of red or blue on a shirt, the rest mostly being either a dark palette or white. Description: Manus, while not silent, does not talk much and will chose the shortest word whenever possible, preferring pragmatic speech over anything flowery. He also has a tendencyto talk down to those who he believes to be unintelligent and will often resort to sarcasm whenever possible. Occupation: Bartender, though searching for a better job. Hobbies: Manus takes a great interest science and knowledge with a particular knack for numbers, having earned a degree in accounting and half of one in theoretical physics. Superpowers/equipment: Can manipulate the EM spectrum by increasing or decreasing its frequency. However, he cannot do it with much precision beyond getting the type of wave he desires. For example, he could turn a light wave into a radio wave, but not with enough skill for it to be read as anything other than white noise. He has a tendency to use the later to disrupt any nearby radios playing a song he dislikes. Extra info: Speaks British English and Welsh.
Character looks good Erik, but next time please send it to me first. Also, I'm going to have to take away the levitation. Being as you could fly with your fire. Also, you will need some sort of weakness, like aversion to water or something. You don't have to state it, but the characters can't be perfect.
No problem, I was thinking she could levitate as in "make herself as light as fire", I'll just tweak it. And I intended for her big weakness to be water, too. I just didn't want to state it, because...ya know...somebody might make a water-themed hero just to spite me, lol.
Name: Amy Song, aka 'Rainbow/Anti-Rainbow' Age: 22 Gender: F Family: Amy's parents and siblings, as well as her innumerable cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews, all live in China, where she was born and raised. Appearance: Amy is beanpole thin, not from working out, but just because she has a high metabolism. She has short black hair that she usually wears in two girlish pigtails. She has a quirky style and loves to wear bright colors, even if they don't match. She is also very fond of novelty sunglasses, plastic bangles, and neon lipstick. Typical Clothing/Costume: Rainbow's costume is a red shirt with a rainbow logo on the front, a white mini-skirt, white go-go boots, a white cape that ties around her neck, and a "mask" made from a strip of white fabric she cut two eye-holes in (if you can't tell, she made her entire costume herself--she's on a budget). In costume, she wears a shiny blonde wig that's obviously fake. Description: Amy is a fun-loving, energetic, crazy girl. She makes friends easily, but she's also good at annoying people. She was bullied ruthlessly in school for her perpetually happy-go-lucky attitude, but she never let it get her down. In the rare moments when life actually does get her down, its like a light switch goes off and she becomes a totally different person: Anti-Rainbow. Anti-Rainbow is a dark, gloomy side of Amy that will rage against her enemies until they are completely and utterly defeated. Occupation: Amy sells arts and crafts online and that's about it. She mostly lives off the checks her father sends her every week. Hobbies: Amy loves arts and crafts, drawing, sculpting, anything artistic and creative. She is also occasionally booked to paint murals on the sides of buildings. Superpowers/equipment: Rainbow's powers - Rainbow can shoot tangible rainbows from her hands. They can be up to a hundred feet long or as short as she wants them to be. She can use the rainbows to wrap around criminals and trap them, but they aren't super strong: it would take many layers of rainbows to trap any villain that isn't a weakling. If the villain is strong enough, he can break through before she wraps him in a rainbow cocoon. (Once broken, the rainbows turn into multicolored particles and dissipate into thin air.) Getting hit with one of her rainbow beams will feel like you're getting punched with a boxing glove; even if it doesn't knock out her enemies, it will at least push them back or distract them. She can also use the rainbows to wrap around objects and throw the objects at her enemies, such as a trashcan or a motorbike. She can also create rainbow bridges, much like Iceman creates ice bridges, and she can travel around Atlantis on them. When Rainbow is angered, which is extremely rare, she becomes Anti-Rainbow: her costume and her rainbows turn black and white, her blonde wig turns ash gray, her skin turns chalky white and her eyes turn completely black. In 'Anti-Rainbow mode', her rainbows are twice as strong as before, able to break through a brick wall or lift an army tank. Only a supervillain with great strength would be able to break through Anti-Rainbow's cocoons. Equipment: Rainbow keeps a Taser hidden on her person, just in case. Extra info: When Anti-Rainbow turns back to Rainbow, Rainbow doesn't remember anything she has done as her dark alter ego.
Introducing...Path. Name: Path Age: 34 Gender: M Family: Path is an orphan, but he is obviously of Native American descent. Appearance: Path is well-muscled, broad-shouldered, ruggedly handsome, usually wears casual clothes with a few Native American touches, such as shirt and jeans with moccasins, and likes to braid his hair with crow feathers. Typical Clothing/Costume: Path doesn't have a flashy costume, he just likes to wear comfortable, functional clothing, with a Native American flair. Description: Path is a silent brooding type. He only speaks when he has something important to say because he believes that talking is the root of all evil. He listens to nature and is very aware of even the slightest changes in his surroundings, in the air currents or in the vibrations in the ground. He can also read people very well, detect if they are lying or telling the truth and what type of person they are, simply by watch them closely. For all these reasons, Path is extremely good at solving mysterious crimes, because he is very observant and he sees things other people are too distracted to see. Occupation: Path is a meditation instructor, helping people reconnect with the natural world around them. Hobbies: Path likes to take power walks in nature, meditate, collect crystals, volunteer to clean up the streets, use his advanced tracker skills to follow animals, and watch people in public (to learn more about human nature and to practice his observation skills). Superpowers/equipment: Path is short for "Empath", which is Path's main power. He can tap into other people's energy and feel their emotions as well as gleen their surface thoughts. He can't fully read their mind, but he can pick up little pieces about whatever they are currently thinking about. Some people are harder for him to read, and others broadcast their thoughts like a radio; it depends on their personalities. And Path can also channel other people's superpowers and, as a result, he can tell whatever anyone's abilities are. He can only channel one person at a time, and he can only mimic one of their powers at a time. Path has to be near the person to copy their powers and when he mimics their powers, it is not as strong as when they use it. For instance, if he copied Superman's super-speed, he might not be "faster than a speeding bullet", but he would still be faster than the average person. As for equipment, he has a hatchet in case he needs to fight someone up close, and he is skilled at hand-to-hand combat.
Hey, I just put up my first post...I just wanna clarify that the only reason Path wasn't killed by Wallet Chain's ice powers is because Wallet Chain is immune to the cold, and since Path was mimicking his power, he was also immune to the cold. If Wallet Chain wasn't immune to his own powers, then Path would have frozen solid and died just like anybody else. I just wanted to say that so no one would think Path was invincible, lol.
Posted Callie. Yes, Bob is the first villain, keep watch for his next post. In the meantime, continue with individual storylines. I'll be sure to get him out in the open. Also, keep watch for a newscast. I will periodically be using these to move the story along. They will be posted as follows: NEWSCAST This is a live broadcast for New Atlantis. Such and such with so and so happened today, causing... etc. The first should be up soon, after another round or two of individual storylines. Keep at it folks! Looking great so far.
Name: A.R.W.N. Age: was built about 10 years ago Gender: female Family: none, the scientist who created her is currently huddled in a 10 by 10 cell in Atlantis Insane Asylum, scribbling mathematical formulae on the walls in his own feces Appearance: Arwen is an android and looks completely human except for a pair of silver, bladelike antennae on the sides of her head, where ears should be. They sort of look like wireless headphones and can easily be mistaken for such. She stands about 5’8”, has long straight blonde hair, green eyes, and a slim athletic build with subtle curves. She would be considered attractive by most people’s standards, but in a cold sort of way, like a clothing store mannequin. Despite her outward appearance, she weighs about 350 pounds, because of her dense inner structure. Typical Clothing/Costume: She is usually outfitted by the New Atlantis Police, even though she doesn’t work directly with them. (She monitors the police scanner and responds to distress calls, so they tend to meet up in the field.) Usually looks like a SWAT member, dressed in black cargo pants, black shirt, weighted fingerless black gloves, combat boots, and ballistic vest, but no weapons. Description: Dr. Miles Maxwell was once a leading roboticist at Atlantis University until he was granted the curse of extreme intelligence… with a side order of extreme insanity. Before his transformation, he was pitching an idea for a robotic police force, but Atlantis’s government wasn’t buying. He finally snapped when his wife and child became collateral damage in a supervillain attack. Dr. Maxwell disappeared for months, presumably to grieve. He returned armed with a homebuilt suit of powered armor, which he used to brutally murder the villain responsible, then proceeded to raid a number of high-tech firms all over the city. The police thought he was gathering materials to upgrade his armor and kill more villains. But, when he was finally captured, he hadn’t changed a thing; in fact, he’d scavenged parts from the armor, as if he knew he’d never need it again. The stolen materials were never found and Dr. Maxwell cut out his own tongue before he could be questioned, but his research notes spoke of artificial intelligence, infinite energy, a perpetual motion drive that generates kinetic energy from nothing, and voices in his head. Shortly after he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the looney bin, a new superheroine appeared in the city… Occupation: None. She doesn’t eat, sleep, or require shelter. What little money she has is charity from helping people and usually goes toward repairs. Arwen scavenges spare parts and stashes them in hidden caches throughout the city. After sustaining damage, she can usually be found picking through landfills or trying to bum parts from hardware stores and auto garages. Hobbies: None. As far as personality and interests go, she’s a limp noodle. When not fighting crime or repairing herself, Arwen goes dormant. She will just stand there, like a statue, monitoring radio waves or the internet until she feels compelled to spring into action. She has an unfortunate tendency to do this in the worst places, such as in people’s homes or even in the middle of the street, which is made worse by the fact that she cannot be moved. She once shut down a street for two days, because there was a lull in the crime rate; she stood in the middle of an intersection until a bank heist woke her up. Superpowers/equipment: Arwen’s android body has some innate benefits, such as enhanced strength, durability, and the ability to interface with computers, but her true superpower comes from the perpetual motion drive that fuels her. Arwen can imbue her body with kinetic energy, allowing her to hit with much more force than her mass and velocity should suggest. The inverse is also true; when standing still, she can make herself kinetically inert, making her immovable and impervious to impact. When she is kinetically charged, her hair and eyes glow. The “Arwen glow” has become a popular meme, since it usually precludes a bad guy getting sucker punched into next week. Extra info: In a strongbox in her chest is a metal sphere. It is actually a gimbal whose rings are spinning infinitely close to the speed of light, giving the illusion of a solid orb. How it stays together and continues to spin is a mystery to all, but it is presumably her power source.
Name: (real name unknown) Cryo (named after a famous drink in Atlantis) Age: (real age unknown) people guess 20 Gender: Male Family: doesn't remember Appearance: 5'9'' tall, 200lbs heavy, asian-looking guy with broad shoulders. He's got short black hair and wears a black pair of glasses. Typical Clothing/Costume: In his spare time he walks around in grey cargopants, a black-red hoodie, an orange t-shirt and black sneakers. When people asked if he had any different clothing he responded with "Yes, but it's all the same." During work he wears a normal waiters uniform. Description: Has next to no memories of his home and now spends his time doing freelance work. Currently he's working at a restaurant in Downtown Atlantis. He's living in an abandoned building on the outskirts of the Tidepools. He learns fast and has a thirst for knowledge. He often gets lost in thoughts. He can be reckless when faced with combat situations. Occupation: Currently waiter Hobbies: Exploring the city on his days off, looking for a way to get back into his own dimension Equipment/Items: Waiter's tablet, a smartphone like machine that appears to be broken ( from his own world) Abilitys: tough, has a lot of stamina, might rediscover some abilitys Extra info: All he remembers from his old world is that he took part in some sort of experiment before ending up in this world.
Hope everyone had a good holiday. The roleplay is coming along very well thus far. Keep your ideas going. I'll be posting in a few minutes to keep things moving.
Now, to explaining a reference in my most recent post. 'Tsunami 47' is a play on a japanese idol girl group named 'AKB 48'. AKB being Akihibara, which is the district in Tokio where their theater is located and 48 being the number of members.
Hey guys, great job so far. One thing I'd like to do is get everyone around the same day and hour. A few characters are skipping days and hours, which is OK for now, but let's try to find a way to start converging iinto group or groups.
I'm at work right now, but I'll post when I get home. I plan on getting Arwen out of the Smith's house and into the streets. If anyone wants to meet up, let me know; I can have my post end at your location.
Time to explain a few things! First, the reason Cryo stopped thinking about her high pitched voice was the magical girl woman mentioning that the Doc wants to run some experiments. Ever since that accident that led him to Atlantis he's kinda scared of them. And the magical girl woman destroyed the compass because the beeping started to annoy her too... and because she forgot how to turn it off, but that's already mentioned. Fun Fact: Yen Sid is the name of the magician in Fantasia The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
