Well, tomorrow I'm getting a female German Shepherd pup - and to be honest, I'm much better with male names! So any suggestions would be helpful. I'd prefer names that aren't too cute or simple and possibly more on the unisex side of things. I'd appreciate it!
If you go with a mythological name, then you should go with Fenrir. It's the name of a gaint wolf from norse mythology.
Freya is a pretty name, I've always liked it. But it's a little too delicate for my taste, if that makes sense lol. And how exactly do you pronounce Fenrir? o_o It sound like it could turn into a tongue twister. xD
Your brother-in-law is named Trinity? o: Not that that is a bad thing, but it's definitely the first time I've heard of a male being named that. Those are good suggestions! Okami is pretty cool. So far my first choice is Ripley, but I'm such an indecisive person haha.
I know at least three people that have german shepards named sasha, i dont understand the big deal with naming a shepeard Sasha I liked Otto (though male name). Good luck getting a cool name fr her. Always fun!!
Well, I could come up with original names, but they are more fitting for fantasy stories. Well, there're always generic GSD names, such as Anna and Blitz.
Ah well that makes sense. And nah, Lady reminds me of Lady and the Tramp and I love that movie haha. I think I'm just picky is all lol. The German Shepherd is my favorite dog breed by far. And Speedy, Otto is a cool name. You could probably make it unisex. I knew a guy named Courtney once, which I saw as basically a female name - but the more I got to know him it became less and less feminine sounding. xD
I'm not that great at making up names, for some reason. o.o And eh, Anna and Blitz are cute but a little too plain for me. See, I'm so hard to please. XD -eyetwitch- I appreciate you giving suggestions though!
Floda (Adolf backwards).....still a name that souns oddd lol What was the dog in Garfield called....was it Oddy (not sure how it was spelt! i loved that.
How about scientific/common flower names. Albizia Julibrissin (Mimosa) Buddleia Weyeriana (Butterfly Bush) I make up some names for my stories this way too.
Those are actually pretty cool. But a bit long for a dog name, or at least that is what my mom will say haha. That and I'm really just not fond of really feminine sounding names for some reason. I'm so butch inside. XD
I've heard that one used before. It's interesting, I'll keep it in mind. Well, not for very long seeing as we're getting the dog tomorrow lol. But yeah. xD So far all I've thought up that I'm considering are: Ripley Brooklyn Piper (a favorite tv character) Gatsby (not really a female name but I like it xD) And Lolita popped in my head a few minutes ago. Myrth is nice though.
And finally Emme (pronounced like "em"). Well that's it for the night; tell us your decision tomorrow!
Yeah Hawaiian names are neat. My mom's friend had a Malamute with a really cool Hawaiian name but I can't remember what it was. e.o
Since you like Hawaiian names, here are a couple that I had considered for a story I was working on: Kailani (pronounced k-eye-lah-nee; it means heavenly sea, which would be perfect if she ends up loving the water) Kiana (key-ah-nah; it means moon goddess, which will be perfect if she tends to howl at the moon--or not!)
'Ello, I am not a professional puppy namer, but I like Japanese names. How about Japanese names? Such as Momo, which means peach or Yuki, which means snow or ice or Haku, which is along the lines of white spring.
