Ok, long story short, when my computer took a dump a few months back I lost the drivers and whatnot that make my computer talk to my Epson Stylus Photo R340 printer. I'm old school. I like keeping hard-copies put away in case of electronic failure like the aforementioned computer dump. Anyway, I've gone to the Epson site, downloaded the diver they have suggested and, voila! Nothing! No printing is happening!! What am I doing wrong? Please, help is most appreciated. BTW, I'm running Windows XP Professional.
Recheck the driver, to make sure it is the right one and XP compatible, then check that your computer is registering the printer.
Ooh. I've had bad experiences with XP and printers. same thing happened to me whe mine crashed. Try going through the hardware settings in the system properties menu, and see if it actually has a printer on record as being installed. If not, then uninstall and re-install the driver and when you come to do so, right click on the setup file and click "Run as admin". If this doesn't work than try the customer services on the Epson site and tell them what happened. Sorry, best I can do.
1. unplug the printer from the computer 2. uninstall the driver 3. restart the computer 4. plug the printer into the computer 5. follow the "new hardware install" prompts from the computer using windows to find the driver 6. if this doesn't work, send email to epson customer support and/or google for your model and "drivers" for fix 7. if that doesn't work, buy only Hewlett-Packard printers from now on, because (no offense) they are the only reliable brand out there for printing Good Luck!
Happy Dance! Happy Dance! Hap-hap-hap-hap-Happy Dance!! Printer is working!! Nice fellah' in New Delhi fixed my problem!!!
It takes sooo little to make you happy...I'll bet your parents saved a lot of money each Christmas when you were young...LOL
I got an old used non-electric typewriter when I was kid that my dad was given from his office. It was the best Christmas EVER!!! I went through uncounted reams of paper in the following months.
