What are people's thoughts about taking the opportunity of having one's work serialized in a local newspaper? What about doing it BEFORE landing an agent to have the work published?
Well, it has been done and the book published as a whole afterwards, but I'd suggest that that would be the exception to the rule.
have you had an offer to publish your novel that way? i think it would me more likely that you'd be killing its chances to be published as a book, if you go that route... at the very least, hampering it significantly, since it's already been published and therefore you can't offer first rights...
