    Latest Windows Update

    Discussion in 'Writing Software and Hardware' started by EdFromNY, Jul 11, 2014.

    Two days ago, I downloaded a Windows update, and ever since then internet explorer has been about as stable as a banana republic. I mean, the thing crashes every two minutes. I'm using Google Chrome for the duration, but has anyone else experienced this? And does anyone know of a fix?

    What windows?

    Also, try just reinstalling IE, that usually fixes the issue for my friends when I fix their computers.
    Also, switch to Chrome permanently or Firefox if you don't care about YouTube's 1080p embargo...

    Internet Explorer? Do you still use Alta Vista?
    Sorry, I just wanted to feel what it's like to be a computer snob.

    I haven't installed a Windows update in many months - they always seem to be more trouble than they're worth. I abandoned IE years ago in favor of Firefox, and (mostly) abandoned Firefox a few months ago in favor of Chrome. Chrome works for me.

    @EdFromNY, why not just stay with Chrome? You likely won't regret it.

    Then yeah, try just redownloading IE and installing it.
    That fixed the issue almost every time for me.

    @minstrel
    That's what I said :3

    @minstrel - I would, but my daughter, who has autism, is used to IE. And hates change.

    I'll try reinstalling. Thanks, @A.M.P.

    I don't mean this as a joke but don't ever upgrade to windows 8... it's very much filled with "convenient" changes
