    The RPG Art Book.

Discussion in 'Archive' started by Raven, Aug 26, 2008.

I've received a few PMs about people wanting to draw RPG characters from the Cyberpunk trilogy and within days everyone’s at it. Talk about catching the trend. :p

Anyhow I have even dabbled myself So with that in mind I thought why not have a thread completely dedicated to the RPG art world.

If you've drawn your character or a character regarding any of the games that have been played or are been played feel free to post the image in this thread.

    The thread will be stickied.

So since this is the starting post I'll post mine up first. ;)

This is a combination of Raven's RPG and my RPG. The skeleton resembles the humans in my RPG and the cyberpunk on the right side is to resemble the cyberpunks in Raven's RPG.
The face in the background represent those who are watching them.

Phoenix Colony was an RPG that ran last month. It's also been the most popular one on the site by far with almost 3,000 posts. It's still on the first page of the RPG forum if you want to take a look at it. Basically everybody was on a prison ship headed for a planet to spend the rest of their lives in the mines. Instead the ship crashed on an unknown planet and the game started from there. One cool twist was that the planet slowly changed you over time and gave you powers that could either help you or handicap you. There was also a three story invisible cat-snake that was killing everyone. In fact, the slogan for the game was "Somebody's gonna die."

I played Allen Kiro, former spy and assasin. He's about as cool as you could possibly get and still be human. ;)

I found it and this is what came into my mind, it's your planet my vision. This was all done by me by scratch. So yeah this is all me.
It has no words, I thought words would ruin it.

    Here you go:

Cool artwork so far! I love this idea, Raven, thank you. Your piece for Cyberpunk looks like a movie poster...well done. Creeps me out.

I like the planet, Leaka...there are several elements in the picture that play into what happened in Phoenix. Read over the RP if you have time. There was some excellent writing and really fun world-building. And there will be a sequel. :D

And I'd love it if we got some pictures together of The Phoenix Colony. That would be great!

I'll put Tolva up here, though I've been refining her skin tone and will probably edit this eventually.

Flux, do you do everything on the computer? That's really good drawing...it's not easy to go straight to computer sketches. I may try more of that once I get an optical mouse...the kind with the ball is lousy for sketching.

I've got a tablet and pen that's the way to go with digital drawing but I've seen some awesome mouse drawings before

I've only tried the digital pad and pen once so didn't really get used to it. So I'm still sketching and scanning here. But at least I finally have a scanner...that's recent.

The character is Suzu from my Cyberpunk Trilogy. Personally I think both these picutres are very good and GK is one of the best amature artists I've seen who focuses her art on Manga.

Those are some good pictures Gloom Kitty.
    I can't draw like that....I'm jealous.....give me your talent.
I really like your pictures Gloom and I think it would cool if you posted some more or had Raven post more so that I can look at them.

    Thanks to all who complemented.

I just sketch in pencil then scan and color in photoshop with my cheapo tablet.

It's weird because I haven't drawn much since high school, back when me and my friends were hooked on anime and deadset on making our own manga. I'm no where near as good as I was then, but nowhere near as bad as I thought I'd be.

Nice pics gloom. do you color by hand then?

Gloom uses a special kit and draws from scratch including colouring in.

Below is another of Gloom Kitty's work. As you can see she's certainly a pro. ;)
