What are some good ways to just get some of your writing work out there on the internet for viewing by an audience - not for critiquing purposes.
For getting it out there non-commercially, we have, for example, fanfiction.net and fictionpress.com.
I have used paragraphplanet.com I think it's great for writing practice and I submitted my 75 word paragraph of my novel in June.
set up a website for your work... post it on any/all sites that will take it... include links to your site in all your correspondence/posts... ...however, be aware that anything you post will not be able to be submitted for paying publication, since it's already available for free...
Also, be aware that everything you ubload to the Internet can persist forever. When you look nback at that "brilliant piece of writing" you wrote a year ago, you may wish it could be erased from the timestream.
Maybe the best way to 'get your work out there' is to get it in the absolute best shape you can and submit it to markets. An established magazine or ezine is far more likely to get 'eyes' reading your work than other methods. Why? They have a built in audience waiting for the next issue. A secondary benefit is that normally a market that has a large audience pays authors for the right to include the work in their magazine/ezine.
I first posted and still post most of my prose to Deviantart websight. It is an all around art websight. Pictures, drawings, poetry, photomanip, short stories, etc. Some writers post on going stories, I think a couple have comic books running. This is not for profit. They offer the chance to buy the art from them, but I don't think alot of people buy.
