You would think they could at least spell.

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by UKDave, Oct 22, 2017.

I would like to start a thread on examples of spelling or grammatical mistakes. Not ordinary bloggers or even on social media, but people you would expect to be able to spell or use the correct grammar.

For example : An article on the BBC news website about Robert Mugabe's goodwill ambassador role.

It could be heat attacks, but I expect it is meant to be heart attacks.

The classic case of what spell-checks won't catch, but real editors might, if an alert editor had vetted the piece before it went into print.

Of course, even alert editors have their bad days. It isn't an issue unless it happens repeatedly, in which case the BBC would probably like to know about it.
