Hi every body I would like to let know about Islamic headscarf we call it ( Hijab ) for women only ,some women in islamic country wear it for example my wife were like this when she go out our home this some pictures for Hijab . I will be happy to answer your queries , and I'm sorry if my writting not so well .
I expect you intended this to go here? But it's good to see there's a McDonalds in the Middle East. There should also be a Campbell's Soup place, though, just so the two are even lol
Nothing...except maybe...you know there are areas in Saudi Arabia for women only where they don't have to wear the veil? Is that common everywhere in the Middle East?
A one-sided flame war...it's also inhumane and cruel to convict people without a defence or evidence and to pull off three wars of extermination in the 20th century. Still, that's politics, and the world in general. And this is a writing forum. Before this thread is moved or (probably, if the posts aren't deleted) closed, I'd just point out that God and Allah are actually the same thing - it's a lingual difference.
In Jakarta I learned that the headscarf alone is called a "higab"-- is that word just a local version of "hijab" or does it refer to completely different clothing? Because those clothes in your pictures, as I understand them, are called "niqab". In Jakarta, different higab come in a great variety of fabrics and colors-- pink silk, blue cotton, even batik patterns. Do they only have basic black over there? Why do I sometimes see, like on the news, women in blue burqas? Are they regulated per region, so if you ever travel to that region then your wife must change the style of her dress? Does the weather change enough, or are there certain occasions, that allow for a change in the type of fabric a person wears?
imo, the thread more properly belongs in the 'research' section, where people who are writing about the middle east and/or islam would look for info on such things... you can ask a moderator to move it for you, bin...
I have read translations of the Quran that explain why some Muslim communities believe they need to cover up even their face. I was just wondering how accurate it was. If I remember correctly, the passage I read said that women must cover everything but their feet and hands, or something to that effect.
I moved this to Research. However, I have to point out that it is more appropriate to post questions that you are having difficulty researching on your own for your writing, rather than posting unsolicited information. If this were intended for critique of the writing of the article, it would have to be posted in the Nonfiction section of the Review Room workshop, but you would also have to show a commitment to participate in the workshop by posting at least two Constructive Critiques first.
wellcom yes in there are areas in Saudi Arabia only wemon forexample women has special college and special part in hospetal then they can do any things . when they wear veil they feel free and this the best for them. but not all the Middle East like Saudi Arabia
interviews with many muslim women prove that this is not true for all, much as you may want to think so, bin...
Hmm - without insulting anyone - I'll post my opinion. I think that perhaps they are made to believe its the best for them, as they've been brought up with it. But yeah on topic I saw a white burka today. I actually dont mind the semi-burkas with no complete cover and without the heavy robes - it looks okay and doesn't seem too restricting.
Depends on the women, Maia. Some do like it. In Canada, there is no way to force an adult woman to wear it, yet I see many who do.
In islame there are four type all of this right In Jakarta they are wear Hijab but not same in Saudi and they do't change it never . and in Saudi they can wear any colors but in them cultuer black colors Now I live in Malyaisa but my wife wear same in the pictuers . thank you so much thanks you my sister I things you have a good information abaut it, they must cover it If there is a temptation . thank you so much I'II do what you want. maybe but they have to wear it becouse this is from God . thank you so much they can wear any colors yes my sister they wear it becouse they get a lot benefits .
Women in the UK have fought legal battles to be able to wear the veil. It's not a question of gender equality. The benefits are supposedly modesty and chastity, in both sexes.
Hmm - women are restricted and made to wear really heavy robes when men can have multiple wives? why dont men have to cover themselves?
Knock it off. You don't like the Muslim veil. We get it. Unfortunately you aren't going to change the entire Muslim population's minds on an internet forum. Actually, you're unlikely to change anyone's minds with such an insulting tone. You might not understand it, but a lot of Muslim women choose to wear it. They see it as part of their religion, and as has been said they have fought for their legal right to choose to wear it. Now for the sake of what's left of my sanity, leave this stupid argument alone.
Actually the robes are not very heavy, and there is no one forcing you to cover your faec, it is a matter of choice. Furthermore, you don't even have to wear black, so you won't even get hot. Men don't cover themselves because it is usually them that are looking at the girls.
I'm pretty sure there are actually regulations to encourage chastity not just in women, but they are mainly to do with actions rather than social interaction - shaving, gambling, going to the mosque, etc. The women see themselves as doing their religious duty. It's not the men telling them to do it, it's themselves.
