I'm in need of a survey for a class and I decided to do it on books. The question here is how many books have you read in the past 2 months. You can submit your entry in the poll or post it here.
I have read about ten but only because I didn't have time to do any writing etc. Usually it is two or three. Some ere rereads. Mostly the gay fiction pile and the series books I was recommended on here so research for my book. Have also read some astronmy and particle physics textbooks to prepare me for my firefly idea etc Do they count? Oh and found my favourite archaeology book reread that. One day when kid free hopefully i can get round to one a day again
About three and a half. I mostly read these days to study writing, so I read good writers and I read very carefully, usually taking notes.
I wasn't really including textbooks for school. I was referring to published fiction and non-fiction books. Is it still ten without those?
yes and they weren't for school. I read them like normal books. With them I am closer to 15-20 - I left uni over ten years ago.
School and judo and jazz band have taken a toll on my free time D:. I'm slowly eating through a pile of library books on my desk, though.
4 novels, 1 short story collection, 1 poetry collection, and a few other textbooks, which I don't think qualify for this poll.
Read maybe three from cover to cover. Dipped into perhaps 10-15 besides (chapters, portions of non-fiction; the odd short story)
Last night before I went to bed I was wondering about this. I figured in the last 3 months I have read 22 novels and almost 25(halfway through 2 novels at the moment) I just checked a post I made on a different thread about a book I finished. So I have read about... well 20 books in the last 2 months. Give or take. I think I am off in my counting somewhere. So anywhere between 15-20.
I don't keep track very well... I think I might be over 7 but I wasn't sure so I just went with 5 or 6.
Urm, I've read over 30 . Though mostly historical romances. Do these count? And then I re-read some like the Inheritance series and Lord of the Rings, etc etc.
5 maybe 6, I'm a slow reader. on saying that, last week I read The Myth of Justice by Graham Pears in two days, it is a real page turner.
3 fantasy beasts of around 700 pages each plus a science book by the wonderful Brian Cox. Currently reading another fantasy book and Dawkins' latest. Mostly read while I'm traveling on trains. Most of my reading is of students' essays.
One novel and four nonfiction. I'd have more, but a lot of my reading is searching through bits and pieces of history books, sometimes for reference, sometimes for pleasure. And, as it turns out, I'm a slow reader too.
Once the weather turns I turn into a regular book worm. It's almost embarrassing. My boss razzes me that I have a different book every time she sees me pull one out of my locker.
