Where Can I See Comet Pan-STARRS? If you've never seen a comet, you should find some dark skies for a treat. There's a bigger one coming in November I think. Dark skies can make a huge difference since city lights wash out the tail. If you can see the comet in the city then compare that to seeing it in a dark sky, the difference can be shocking.
Telescope's good when the comets are further out. Binocs are good if the city lights wash out the tail anyway, or if the comet is distant. But there are not many things more awesome than a comet tail which spans half the sky and for that, your eyes can see the panorama better than looking through a lens. Sark might be fun, with or without a telescope.
Meh, pretty run of the mill. Are you familiar with the NEO Project site? Yours: http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi?sstr=2013%20ET&orb=1 ---102 meters Now this one, OTOH: http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi?sstr=1993%20UC&orb=1 ---passing by on the 20th is further out, but it's 3.8 kilometers wide. I'm a space fan.
It's been all clouds here so far, maybe tonight it'll clear up at the right time to see the comet. Also there's a CME headed this way so we may get some auroras in the mid latitudes in the next day or so. http://www.spaceweather.com/
