I have several books published by the enigmatic publisher "Futura," which, according to the details on the inside pages, is an imprint of Little, Brown Books. However, the Writers & Artists' Yearbook 2008 and the Writers' Handbook 2008 both list imprints of said company, and neither list Futura. An internet search of the name Futura Publishing brings up no links of use. I have a true crime project I wish to put to them, but finding them is proving to be tricky. Can anyone help?
Neo, How long ago were the books published with them (Futura)? I checked on the Little Brown website and clicked on the inprints, (see: http://www.littlebrown.co.uk/AdvancedSearch ) and could not find it. Maybe they discontinued that imprint? Then there is the Hatchett Book Group, which Little Brown and Company is part of. (see: http://www.hachettebookgroupusa.com/aboutus.html ). Don't know what to say otherwise. Hope this is a start. Terry
it's a quite old imprint, started back in '69, so i thought it could well be out of business now... then i came across this: http://www.tangled-web.co.uk/crimedigests/digests07/futurapusu07.html but the link to the publisher goes nowhere... a mystery, indeed! further checking, on one of the titles in that link at amazon, reveals the publisher to be time warner, so they've apparenty taken over the imprint from little, brown... however, further googling turns up the news that their books division was sold out to the french firm, hachette... and there, i leave you, to fix my breakfast... see if that helps... love and hugs, maia
