The above is a sample from the early parts of one of the novels I'm currently working on. I have bolded the words that are giving me a little bit of uncertainty. I guess I just need some reassurance that it is correct to capitalize like that, so if anyone is familiar with the technical aspects, I'd appreciate some insight.
Days of the week are capitalized in English, so Thursday is correct. However, principal in that context is a common noun, so it should not be capitalized. If it were used with his name, it would be capitalized, though:
