Call me Evelyn (..."Ishmael" was taken :)

Hi, I'm Evelyn, another refugee from WritingForums.com who is very glad to find on-line writerly goings-on here.

I'm 44, live in Seattle, and was an Metallurgical/Mechanical engineer until health problems forced me into early retirement. I've always dabbled around with writing, and people (even people other than my mother have told me I was good at it. So I've decided to make a silk purse out of the sow's ear of my health woes by exploring what I can do as a writer.

I'm here on-line primarily to hone my craft (starting with finding a less pretentious way to put that , and for companionship and banter with other writers. I try to be friendly and give good critique, and hope to receive the same.

If you want banter we can supply it, even if its sometimes nonsensical banter. Critiques are also available if your willing to be a little patient.

The other forum's back up, but I think I'll be splitting my time between both writingforums.(whatever)

Am (hoping to) get a a short story revised today before posting it here - but then, I should probably get in some critiques of other people's work here first.
