ive just joined this forum and i did it because i feel i must write whats on my mind and this was the first forum i found on google. ive spent my life staying quite from fear of looking stupid but i NEED somewhere to post my thoughts as they come. my grammer and my spelling are something i know i need work on but my thoughts are not something i think should be locked away because of fear. My hope is not for a thumbs up or a thumbs down but that i provide a reason for thought to be made manifest and written down so that those who lurk though cyberspace can read and produce more thought. I wish not to judge or to be judged for I believe judging is limiting. The sky is not the limit for there is no limit to being only thresholds that must be pushed passed. I wish what everyone else wishes for and that is to BE, to BE a creator of that which was not there before. To spark life from the void of potential by being the catalyst for further thought. Ive spent my life reading and listening to the words of others which I will still do but now I MUST contribute to the great storehouse of BE-ing. I promise I will NOT look down on others but will only look at myself in relation to what YOU say as it relates to me and in doing so work on making myself a better person so that the future will be a better place for my children and grandchildren to live based on the CHOICES I CHOOSE to make. I see you humanity and I see great things. I see only light and its ability to push the darkness of ignorence away. To see past judgement and inequality and to usher in a new world of peace and prosperity. This can NOT be done by one individual but by MANY. I see that pain and suffering are only there to provide a reason for us to CONQUER that which brings us pain and suffering. Im sorry for writing such a long introduction but when lightning strikes from above to the very core of my being I have to put it done in writing. I thank you for reading this far and I thank YOU for being who YOU are for whether you are pessimestic or optomestic, introverted or extroverted, you have previded me a reason to queston who I AM and I only hope that I do the same for you for as a wise man once said "KNOW THY SELF". Thank you.
Hello Neo, Welcome to the Creative Writing Forums. Please read How to Use the Writing Workshop before you post there. Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Writing Workshop, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Writing Workshop, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. We also impose a two-week waiting period before you may post writing for critique, to give you time to become familiar with what is expected and how the site operates. The Writing Workshop forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Writing Workshop forum). Also, please use the same thread for all revisions and additional excerpts from the same piece of writing. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out the RPG forum for improvisational fiction. Also try our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Thanks for the welcome. I will be sure to read the forums rules for I do not wish to disrespect this forum or its members. I really didn't mean for my introduction to be so long. All I knew was I had this "itch" and I wasn't around a piece of paper or my computer, but I did have my phone. Next time I'll be sure to carry paper around with me so I don't subject you all to my terrible grammer. lol May the creative spirit be with us always. Peace
