I actually signed up a couple of nights ago. Thought I would do with a formal introduction. I have written off and on most of my life with most of my stuff going into the circular file or just deleted out of my hard drive. I do have a couple shortstories floting around in the ether of the internet. I do a have a work in progress that I wish to release as a novel but we'll see. About me. Well, I lead a go, though admittedly boring life until my mid-20s when I joined the Army. Up until then I had worked mostly in the oil fields in Texas and off the coast of Louisiana. Once I was out of the Army I needed a rush. I was approached by a brother in law who was running drugs. Though in my life I have never tried any kind of drug and do not even drink, that one time I went with him as a hired gun I got the rush I was looking for. I really did not care about the money. There is always more money. I liked the rush of the whole thing. The lifestyle, the women, the adrenalene when things went bad and the guns came out. When the adrenalene is flowing freely pain is subjective. You have to see it. One of the times I was stabbed I thought I had just gotten punched in the side. Until a friend pointed to the blood seeping down my side, "Dude! You okay?" Now my rush is motorcycles. Fast ones. Nothing like sliding a knee going around a corner and and lifting the front wheel into the air as you come out of it. And what mellows me out are my grandkids Izzy (a boy) and Jimmi (a girl) and my two Catahoula Leaopard Dogs Kato and Max.

Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). Thanks for sharing the story!!! It really means a lot to hear so much of your life experiences. Hopefully they can fuel you to some type of story--personal experience is always best in my opinion and experience. Welcome to the WF!
