Is this a good plot for a story? 1. Man sees sausage on sidewalk. 2. Man tries to eat sausage. 3. Sausage turns into snake and slithers away. 4. Amazing adventure happens.
So... Like Alice chasing the white rabbit down a hole? Anything is a good story idea, it's the presentation that makes or breaks it.
Yar, me thinks the OP was joking. But if he isn't, he needs to add a cryptic hotdog vendor who's missing both his arms due to an event omniously referred to as the Frankenfurter Incident. Here's a link of sausage types for reference. Ha! Link. Get it? This reminds of a comic-book hero my older brother invented, "Mr. Sausages." He was ripped, knew kung-fu, and swore a lot. Also, he consisted entirely of sausages.
The amazing adventure could be something along the lines of a conspiracy where sausages are sentient beings - either native to earth or from outer space, you decide - the sausages can change length for some reason and lead the protagonist on an adventure so that he / she can discover that humans have been persecuting, hunting and devouring innocent sausages for thousands of years, under the delusion that sausages are produced from putting ground up meat into plastic skins. It turns out that the humans have been controlled by a race of haggis, who want to bring about an end to all sausages. Only the a handful of Scots know of this eons-long battle between haggis and sausage, and the whole adventure culminates in a fantastic battle where our hero has to choose - save the sausages or help the haggis? Just one idea. I'm not sure how close it was to yours.
As a vegetarian, I can only applaud this idea. The perfect opportunity to show the world how gross and immoral meat consumption actually is.
I'm surprised anyone took this one seriously - I had a comedy story in mind, but you can find deeper meanings in well written comedies.
I'm flattered that you like the idea, though I'm not a vegetarian myself, so I probably wouldn't be able to tell the story with the kinds of details you'd prefer. Feel free to expand on the idea if you wish. I'm not greedy.
