    G'day Mates!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by ZanPartizanne, Sep 12, 2023.

You can call me Zan. As you could probably tell from the title, I'm from Australia, and during my first years of writing, I've created many kinds of (admittedly embarrassing) fanfiction with my favourite franchises when I was in primary school. Nowadays, I write my own original fantasy stories for fun! In my free time, I'm currently writing and drawing my own action-fantasy comic series and have signed up here to not only learn more about the arts of writing, but to also ask questions on how I can write things in my comic series project (for example, how do I write this character, any suggestions, etc.)

As you can tell from the fact I'm making a comic series, I'm an artist, and I also learn Chinese.

I look forward to meeting you all!

Thank you!! And that's awesome to hear, I'll be glad to help you with the lingo and slang us Aussies use! Is there some sort of messaging feature in WF?

Also, a tip: contrary to popular belief, we don't use 'g'day' very much as we often go 'hello' or 'hey,' but we definitely use 'mate' fairly often. So, be mindful when using the greeting 'g'day.'

Yep, click on my name, and then you'll see the option to 'Start Conversation'
LoL, okay. Love the Aussie lingo. We met some Aussies on a boat trip. They called us Poms ... "Oi, Poms. You coming for a drink?"

Ooh, alright. I'll do this right away, and you can message me if you have any question about the Aussie lingo ;)

POMS!! I haven't heard this slang be used before, so this is something new. Tons of Aussie slang out there!

I see haha, I've looked up the slang and it's used to refer to the Brits.

Which is fair considering that we, similarly, address them as a presumed dietary staple...
