Is slumped the word I want to use here. Slumped implies slouching or drooping, falling, sinking heavily. The effect I want is walking over there with kind of a "oh man, screw this, I'm not walking in this crap" kind of attitude.
I miss your old avatar, Alesia. It was one of my favorites. "Slumped" is passive. And it is not a verb that says what I think you are trying to say. I suggest a thesaurus.
"Slouch" was good enough for Yeats: "What rough beast, its hour come round at last, slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?" Failing that, I'd go for "shamble" or maybe "trudge." Maybe "plod," as well.
Ahh yes. Trudged. That's what I was going for. Stupid foggy brain. Wow lol. I didn't know anyone actually paid attention to the poker face
A thing slumps, be it a person or an object. But slumping is not a verb that suggests to me the act of changing locations like moving to a bar.
I see slump/ed as stationary e.g. slumped in a chair, slumped over the bar. You say 'slumped over to' as on the move.
I was going to go with schlepped, but in the "voice" of my novel, it's not really a word the MC would use.
Try this. http://www.visualthesaurus.com/ I use it all the time. It's going to ask you to sign up or pay to use it further, but I just refresh and look up a new word.
Looks interesting but I just tried "giant" and it only gave me creatures, not words for size. So is it limited to nouns? Perhaps there was another cue I should have added? I tried it for large and got a different result but without paying or signing up for the 2 week trial, half the answers are covered up.
