Bug Report Cannot edit post, internal server error

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Fiender_, Aug 21, 2017.

Hello, I've been trying to update a post of mine in the Novel forum, but each time I try, I get a big ol' error message :(

Can you edit other posts that you have written? Or is it just that one post that gives you the error?

Yes, and since posting this, I've been able to edit the original post in question. :S
I didn't really do anything different the time that it worked. I had already closed my browser down and reloaded the website to see if that would help (it didn't appear to).

EDIT: And I tried contacting the webmaster email in the error and just got a mail daemon delivery failure response. As evidenced here, I can edit other messages

Same problem here! I cannot post my thread in the Writers Workshop - Novels section...

I find it comes and goes, often closing the alert and refreshing the page fixes it for me

I wonder if you might be having permissions issues due to being newly reactivated ? @Wreybies or @Komposten

I think so because I'm just newly reactivated.

If it is that, and I'm not saying it is @Wreybies will be able to fix it for you - you just need to keep poking him til he responds (though not so often its irritating)

I got the thread up and running now. The registry error is related to the thread creation process, which is an issue Daniel needs to look into*, but is at least something I can resolve with a workaround. I created the thread out of a reply post and then grafted it out as its own thread under your account. Should be good to go.

*This is unrelated to the requirements for the Workshop. The member is good to go in that regard. It's a genuine glitch that needs looking into.

After reading threads on similar issues, I saw someone suggest removing any smilies from the thread while you edit. I tried that, and that's what finally worked for me.
