We have these tiny hummingbirds here and yesterday one was on my lawn. That never happens, you rarely see them stopped in a tree let alone on the ground. But shortly thereafter another landed and low and behold, they got it on. Then they flew off and several more humming birds flitted around in airborne combat. It was all very brief, and I don't think the combatants suffered injuries. But it was clear there was a female they were jousting over and one was successful. Wish I knew where the nest was.
Guess it's the season. I'm enjoying my coffee in the cool shade of the backyard and the little hummers are at it again.
