Due to the Lounge turning into the good ol' catfight mosh pit, I decided to make a nice little list of fun things to try in the forum. DISCLAIMER: @Duchess-Yukine-Suoh is not responsible for any/all damages/losses you may suffer while doing these. Actually, don't do these at all, m'kay? 1.) Switch the topic to something irrelevant, like fajitas. When someone brings the topic back to the original disscusion, be mad at them. 2.) Ask all the males on the forum if they'll date you, because you're lonely and have no one to sit with in Ms. G's 6th grade homeroom since your boyfriend broke up with you. (this is quite common in the young-ish female dominated forums actually....) This is very effective if your profile says you're 37 or something. 3.) Whenever two people get mad, have your response post be "Rowr! CAT FIGHT! CAT FIGHT!" 4.) Start a fan club for every known anime character on the planet. 5.) Brohoof everyone whenever you agree with them. 6.) Ship two people on the forum and write stories about them. 7.) When the two people tell you to stop writing stories, keep writing them, but change their names very slightly. See if they notice. 8.) At the start of every thread you open, write, HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!
This made my day. Especially this: I like fajitas. We're having them tonight! Anyways, thanks for the tips; I'm sure I'll use some of them.
Duchess is making a charmingly comedic allusion to the fact that the Lounge is a much rougher neighborhood than it once was. In the past, this area was policed vigorously and suspicious threads were picked up, taken on a long drive, and dropped off again where they would do no harm. The People became stifled under this paradigm; thus, a new permissive era began. Permissiveness tends to bring boisterousness of the cheery and also not so cheery kind. My personal take on the matter is a Buddhist one. All things in moderation. We're not really there yet. Were I to have my druthers, topics that come with their own box of matches would be sealed in a lead lined room, away from lighter fare because there is a very strong dynamic of cross transference.
Who said fajitas? Are we having fajitas? Who wants fajitas? I want fajitas ... someone please make me fajitas.
Just to clear, I didn't mean moderation as in monitoring the forum. I meant moderation as in avoiding extremes. Anyway...fajitas!
Ha! Sorry. That is soooo my bad. Seriously, sorry. Just finished dealing with something else and my mind was in a very different mode.
Sorry, @afinemess - we're pretty committed to fajitas in this thread. You'll have to prefer your chimichangas somewhere else.
People hear my name IRL and ask me if I make killer fajitas. I'm a different kind of latino We don't make fajitas. We make other stuff. I'm not good at making them. But I'm A+ Professional Grade at eating them!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's true too, but even their inspiration is not from my personal culture. We don't make anything similar in PR. In one of Anthony Bordaine's shows he did a good job of taking the crew well south of the border (forgive the phrase) to show that Mexican food is (or can be) actually a whole other creature than what is sold in the US as "Mexican".
