I've been invited back for a second interview! I have also been sent a free review copy of Eyepennies by Mike O'Driscoll, the first in a new series of novellas from TTA Press. Today is turning out pretty good, so far.
^ I cheese pizza!! 8D I am studying for my Geography 114 test, and somehow, I'm able to make sense of it all thanks to the study guide and the notes! xD And I'm making progress with the readings for my thesis.
Finished my rough draft on my short story and started another. Most writing I've done all year. Momentum. WOO!
Just had an idea to post my once-beloved serial novella blog on here for critique! Just need to mull over and edit it a few more times to make it do what I want it to! I'm pleased. I can finally have a piece of work on here and maybe some people can show me/tell me how to make it better!
^ That is good! 8) I am very happy to be in my Psychology 120-102 class. Something about it just makes me look forwards to the Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays that I have it.
This will be my first weekend camping with family and friends in five years. After several hospitalizations, my younger brother who is battling schizophrenia finally feels ready to take this short trip. His last hospitalization was a little over 1 ½ years ago. At first, we thought he would have something less...worse, like manic depression - but, no - the final diagnosis was schizophrenia and he has come to accept that. This could be considered bad news, but he’s actually doing better than most of the other patients with the same illness. He’s also taking a web design class at a community college, which is another big step in his rehabilitation. All in all, this has been a pretty good week.
My classes for my senior year of HS are pretty awesome, most of my teachers like me or are people I can get along with, and I haven't had to work too much this school year so far.
Enjoy it while it lasts! It's gonna be over sooner than you think. Or, well, you could also be like those kids who wanted to get out of there really fast.
I got a 88 on my psychology exam, even though I missed 2/4 classes, and I got a job. It's not a great job, but it will keep gas in my car and it won't interfere with my college classes! Today is shaping up very nicely!
My ACT scores came back, and I didn't do too badly, either. Also, today was a good day for me, mentally. My OCD is getting more under control, and I'm happy about that.
Another week of productivity achieved! Happy to reward myself with the weekend to relax and watch some movies I've been dying to see.
I took second place a couple weeks ago for a chili competition at work. Today, I am starting a series of tasty experiments to take first place next year.
I applied for six jobs today, so fingers crossed. A couple are close to home, too. I kept them varied - some in administration and reception, others in Copywriting and publishing. I'm just keen to get out of cleaning and start using my skills, to be honest - and earn some real money.
Safely integrated a retired racing greyhound, Zwi, into the household and a jeans week at work. No cardiac alarms going off and awesome weather. Yeah, life is honestly good at the moment. Now if only I could claim the same for my DOA social life, the world would be just about perfect. But, I don't want to jinx what I have, so I'll shut up now...
My 5-a-side team just won its first game in 3 years. Made all the sweeter by being the goalkeeper and making a string of highly satisfying saves, including one at 3-2, from which we went up the other end and scored. I may have punched the air and shouted in delight at that point. We won 7-2 in the end.
I'm finally getting over a horrible cold/flu thing that had me half dead since about last Wednesday. I was even able to enjoy a football game or two yesterday, and I'll be able to keep an eye on the Dallas/Chicago game tonight. Tomorrow I'll be well enough to resume writing, I hope!
Reached 10k words! And my mom promised to make lasagna later this week {oh the things that can make a twelve-year-old happy}!
