I think the Jehovahs are probably spot-on with the 'baby policy.' And I think you'll find most people back me round these parts. It's about understanding that God doesn't like transfusion in his children, it's icky and counter to original principles in the 'movement.' You get that - you go - as simple as that, no needles, eh. Yeah okay, so no baby anymore.
Thus, very incompetent! I'm a Christian as I said and even I don't support this sort of indoctrination. It's much more intelligent to take advantage of medical advancements. But like I said you can't put logic where there isn't any. There's a thing called free will, and these sort of people seem to be afraid of it. Oh my God, I have to think for myself. I guess it's scary for some people As I mentioned Jehovah's are the worst, and I wouldn't doubt it. That's where I'm putting my money. Mormons, I wouldn't know, I haven't had much exposure to them, but what I do know about them there's weird as fuck
Well! Supposedly Pokemon is Evil as well. So as someone who is Christian and likes Pokemon, where's that put me! LOL. Truthfully, outside the morons they put on TV for sensationalist bullshit. Most churches don't mind Pokemon, and some even have like gatherings for them to play and trade
When I read this part the first thing in my head was 'what about the Westboro baptists?' after all, they kicked out their father founder because he had a terminal illness and by their beliefs if you're worthy of salvation you won't die but ascend to heaven. This is why they do not hold funerals, which they consider to be a celebration of the condemned.
this could have gone here or in first world whinging A couple of months back I bought a laptop for 50 quid off facebook market place, as a fill in because my other laptop is refusing to connect to the net (Its network card is toast).. everything has gone swimmingly with the new one (fujitsu lifebook i3 W10) until yesterday when it told me that my subscription top W10 is about to expire... Excuse me ? What ? Turns out that its an ex biz laptop from some company or other and its on their W10 licence which is renewed annually (and of course I won't be able to install since I don't have the code) shit and fuck However cest la vie for 50 quid I can't really complain , I have backed the few files that were on it up to sticks and when it decides it doesn't want to play any more I shall nuke it from orbit and put one of my Linux installations on it (probably ubuntu although I also have a stick for mint) I only use it to write on when i need to sit with the doggy (he tends to chew things in the office where my iMac is) and for web browsing, email etc when i'm doing things that are a PITA on the ipad and since I do most of my writing in open or libre office that won't be an issue
Didn't sleep a wink last night just to find that my coworker called off today, so I've been so busy I haven't been able to go to lunch or eat anything all day. I'm tired and hangry. Heads will roll if one more person comes into my office and asks me to do something in my last twenty minutes.
Just make sure it isn't backing up your work to its ex-corporate masters' cloud account or something. I started getting all these "You're almost out of memory" notices a while ago and was like "How can that be, I've got a terabyte in the box and two more external," turns out that there was a setting that I hadn't opted out of and everything was being stuffed in Microsoft's version of iCloud, not local. After the nightmares I'd had with iCloud on my iPad, I shut that shit down quick.
"Let not, by action or inaction, any human come to harm." - The Dignity Law "Faith is life, conceived in life. Religion is death, conceived in death" - Articles Of Faith "The determination of life and death is the sole perogative of the State"
I don't read much Sci-Fi. It's just his character has mentioned the Dignity Law a few times in the Character Chatroom.
Azimovian in origin, it is pulled from pre-Strike history by Seeker and presented as an article in the New Constitution (The Dignity Law). A little twist on robot law 'imposed' on man before the very few of us remaining can finish each other off. It is actually paraphrased from Aliens as a throwback(?). The last two are man's toys being taken away by mommy, cause we couldn't play nice. I haven't thought of Starship Troopers in a goodly long while. That movie was a romping parody of itself! Loved it!
Voerhooven, or however you spell it, thought that Heinlein was a fascist and despised him. Sooo they put him in charge of an adaptation of something that was no more a work of fiction than Thomas More's Utopia. Not that I love the book, but it was a major formative influence on me, and it just strikes me as wrong to give the reins of a project to someone who holds the source in contempt.
DPD was going to deliver my parcel to the drop off point on Monday, considering I am going back to work that day, the bf and I agreed that this isn't good enough This is the third/fourth rep we've approached (we got the same name twice but it's not a rare one) and so far the first three chats the depot has made liars out of. We have told the rep that Monday is not good enough after what they have put us through and we do not see why a complementary upgrade to get that fixed is not out of the question because by Monday it has been in their limbo for two weeks! The newest rep says we should get a call within the hour, here's hoping she's not made into a liar too. ETA: surprise surprise, no call, considering that I intended to use it to make things over this weekend I am going to tell them that since the depot had no excuse for not getting it where it was meant to be on Thursday I will be reporting them to Trading Standards citing breach of contract and that projects the item was intended for have had to be postponed. That should give them a kick in the rear.
