IngramSpark - Book Builder Tool Crash

Discussion in 'Self-Publishing' started by fairbro, Apr 19, 2024.

Anyone else used their "book-builder" tool to upload and format your print or e-book?

Totally stopped on this. Nothing makes sense. It's not WYSIWYG, but some of the time it is... The help videos leave out how they magically do it. There is no glossary for the terms they use like "rear text"

Asked "support" got back a cut-n-paste of the same website "instructions".

I'm not computer illiterate, built many websites on my own, but IngramSpark's uploading process is opaque to me, what I would term user-unfriendly or "user-hostile." LOL. I would never create a website that treats its customers like this.

I tried Barnes & Noble website, uploading your baby is transparent; clear and delightful as Saturday morning sunshine.

What will I be losing if I go with B&N instead of Ingram Spark?

Book is a sports biography, of particular interest in the Midwest. B&N is the first alternative I thought of because I used to go to their brick & mortar stores to book-shop, to get the latest King or Koontz on the first day of release. Fond memories
