And that's the bit that's time consuming. Creating all of that individually for each medal, so thanks in advance to everyone for showing patience.
Geez. I just read that short sci-fi story of yours, the one connected to your medal. FANTASTIC. Loved it.
Aww Thank you. That's much appreciated. I read it now and there dozens of things I would have written differently, so many things I've learned over the five years since I wrote it, but it's not too shabby.
Thank you! The olympic looking medals were purchased for use in the forum, but the feather and the inkwell I made by hand.
I love this new system, especially the links so each entry can be easily found and read! Wrey definitely deserves a week off for this brilliant work! That is a scary lot of medals! Sadly I have to say that the page is a little bit broken... The entire menu bar at the top of the site is missing and the header image of the site is at the wrong place (this only goes for the "Medals" page, all other pages work properly). And I still can't find any links to that "Help" page anywhere, only to through the BBCode section (Information -> BBCode).
Oh! I want one of those lightening bolts. Gonna have to get my butt in gear and enter a contest. Er - and write something worth a bolt.
Right. Have you voted in the sci-fi short story contest? For those that think they don't have the time, remember, you can read the first few paragraphs and narrow the choices down before reading anyone's whole story. I tend to read the beginning and end to weed the numbers down, but one need not read each story all the way through to eliminate some from the list.
Checked it out yesterday. Definitely seems like something I'd be able to dive into, it's only <500 words after all! I could probably have voted in all contests for the past six months, but I lack the discipline not to start my computer games and do something constructive instead. Oh, I hadn't thought of that! Next time I get around to do some voting I'll keep this in mind!
What about medals for other things? Maybe for most back hair (screen shot or it didn't happen!)? Cutest pet cat? Ugliest avatar? Well and more serious things related to writing too...
It would be fun, but remember that @Wreybies is doing all the medals himself - he works damn hard for this forum, and we don't need to pile more frivolous tasks onto him!
Thanks, Min. Once all the retroactive medals are given out and that's out of the way, I'm very open to the idea of discussing other kinds of medals we can give for other kinds of activities that are positive, forum-building activities. Like we could have something for the power-critic or mega-Resource-getter or the person who always finds the choice writing links that spark conversation. Cinderella... Links... Linkerella!
